Gari'rai'dalon (Core Name: Iraida) was a female Chiss naval officer. Iraida served the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet early in her career, rising to the rank of Senior Commander. She was placed in command of the CEDF 42nd Picket Force. In 24 ABY, Iraida was dispatched to the edge of the Unknown Regions to investigate reports that the Empire of the Hand had aligned itself with the nascent Sith Empire. Iraida clashed with a Sith fleet under the command of Darth Doom. Iraida was the only Chiss survivor of the encounter and was taken captive by the Sith. Recognizing the Chiss's strategic prowess, Iraida was recruited into the Imperial Navy. By 29 ABY, Iraida had risen to the rank of Commodore. During the First Sith-Mandalorian War, Commodore Iraida led a brilliant campaign against the Mandalorians, helping to secure an equitable peace between the two powers. Despite her great success, Iraida was overlooked for promotion by the xenophobic Imperial High Command. After Sorris Valorum's coup and the establishment of the New Galactic Empire, Iraida's messages affirming her support for the new regime were intercepted by the bigoted Moff Matyas Lucan. With the aid of imperial fighter barons Varda Bereth and Tannon Sulimo, Iraida was vindicated and Lucan was arrested. As a reward for her loyalty, Grand Moff Valorum finally promoted Iraida to the rank of Admiral and assigned her the prestigious post of Exarch of the Outer Rim.
